Cornwall: on the tip of England’s south-west peninsula, Cornwall is a favourite destination of holiday makers and surfers because of its miles of wonderful sandy beaches and surfing tradition, its tasty Cornish pasties and delicious scones, jam and cream. It also has lots of wild moorland and a notorious history of smuggling, captured in Daphne du Maurier’s novel, Jamaica Inn.

Surrey is one of the most eastern of the southern counties of England

Devon: the South East county known for its beautiful coastline, its rugged moors and wild ponies, not forgetting its traditional (and delicious) teatime scones with jam and cream.

Cambridge, the city after which gives its name to the county of Cambridgeshire in the East of central England.

Kent: a county in the South East known as the ‘Garden of England"‘ because of its fruit production and rolling countryside. Many seaside towns nestle on its long coastline like the picturesque Whitstable, famous for its oysters, Margate, home to the Turner Contemporary Gallery, medieval Sandwich and Dover with its world-famous White Cliffs and castle. Canterbury is its main city and home to a cathedral with a 1,400-year history, which has drawn pilgrims and travellers from across the globe for many centuries.
